The Citizen Militia Movement
Right To Keep And Bear Arms
Amendment II - Bill of Rights, Ratified by the People in 1791
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Page Update :

 The Citizen Militia Movement

The true purpose of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is to preserve the concept of the citizen militia, an armed citizenry willing and able to defend its rights against enemies foreign and domestic.
Citizen militia have a long history. For most of human history and pre-history, countries had no standing armies, but instead relied on all able-bodied males to take arms when necessary to defend the community. Rather than being obsoleted by modern technology and industrial civilization, militia can now easily include anyone who wishes to help, including women and the elderly.
With the recent rise of gun control legislation, a grass-roots movement has arisen to reclaim the tradition of the citizen militia. Some of the modern militia movement is rooted in libertarianism; some in conservatism; a few in fringe groups such as survivalists and racists. The media stereotype of a militia, however, only serves to keep people from understanding why it's a good idea to have as many checks as possible on the power of government.
Note: Although I support the idea of a primarily citizen-based state and national defense, I am not a member of any militia, nor have I ever contacted any of them, nor do I have any interest in contacting any of them. It’s just not my style. So don’t ask me how to get in touch with one, because I have no clue. If you really want to find one, do an Internet search, and if that doesn’t help you, ask around at local gun stores or gun rights organizations.

Are Militia and Military Different?   Are Militia and Military Different?
You bet your Dictionary they are! Here is one of the Modern Day Dictionay definitions of both words.
Scholastic dictionaries have changed over the years. I would bet if some old world dictionaries were researched one would find that definition terms have been modified throughout Eras of History, -possibly the most dubious changes likely occurring during the 1800’s of American History. ...I would wonder why?

This section is quite extensive, broken down into separate sub topics for ease of study. Covers the history of the militia from European Medieval to Continental U.S. times establishing what the militia is for. To protect against ememies both foriegn and domestic and to ward off any tyrannical standing armies.

Patriotic Americans don't just want to hang on to such rights as they have left, but to roll back this growth of tyranny. “They have lost confidence in the integrity of our legal institutions, including courts and elections.”

The main purpose of the movement, its members claim, is deterrence.
Every time the government oversteps its authority
it will have to consider the possibility of armed opposition.
And if it tries another Waco, it will have a minor war on its hands.
